The Best Themed Restaurants in Mexico City

Papa Guapa, going back to the 50’s

In reality the Papa Guapa venues are decorated to throw you back in between the 50′, and 60’s. If you like everything about these decades then you should definitely visit this restaurant.

Papa Guapa specializes in dishes where the main character is the potato.

The names on the menu are a lot of fun because they play with the word of potato in Spanish, papa. Examples: Papaulina Rubio, Papamela Anderson y Papaquita la del Barrio.

They have 3 restaurants all around the city and are highly popular due to their great music and vibe.

A place that makes sure the style, food and drinks are themed to perfection to fit the narrative.

The coffee shop is great for the book and film lovers.

In my opinion, this goes on the list of top themed restaurants.

Harry Potter themed restaurants in Mexico City

Up to today, we know 4 Harry Potter themed places in the city. 2 restaurants, 1 coffee shop and the last one can be considered a soda bar.

All 4 are great for fans of the talented wizard, each different in its own way; nonetheless, finding the best one is a hard task you might have to accomplish yourself.

Cereal Station, a Cereal Bar

They don’t consider themselves a coffee shop or themed restaurant. They label themselves as a Cereal Bar.

Even though they call themselves a bar, what you will find here is completely oposite to anything alcohol related, which we truly enjoyed.

Cereal Station is the perfect place for those who love the morning food. Moreover, the best part about the place is that you can try cereals from all over the world, those that you won’t find anywhere else in the country.

A small place, 5 tables max, but with exquisite dishes.

A restaurant to try new foods.

Restaurant Be Bops Diner

If the idea of traveling back to the 50’s and 60’s caught your attention, then you should consider this restaurant as well. Probably the funnest one in the whole city.

What makes it special is the Rock & Roll and Live music. Live music only happens some Fridays and Saturdays.

It’s not just about the food for them, but the dancing! They teach dance lessons on Tuesdays and Sundays and believe me when I tell you people take it serious when throwing it back.

As far as food, you will find the classics: burgers, milkshakes, cheese sticks, and wings.

I recommend you watch our video and read the article on Be Bops Diner

Comicx, the restaurant where superheroes go to eat.

With multiple action figures from the Marvel and DC Comics such as: Batman, Spider-man, Hulk and many more. This place is great for fans and kids.

El Minichelista

I’m not even sure how to describe this place. A place where old artifacts become pieces of art.

A unique and weird place to get out of the ordinary. This coffee shop definitely wins the title for “Strangest Place” because coming here is truly a trip.

More themed restaurants in Mexico City we haven’t had a chance to try.

There are some themed places in the city that we have not had the chance to go to. However, we don’t want to short-change you so here is a list in case you’d like to check them out.

This is a restaurant-bar inspired by nordic culture, so if you’re a Thor and/or vikings fan this can be a great experience.

A different and unique restaurant for sure, here you’ll be able to try the famous viking drink “Hidromiel”

The place will bring you back to medieval times and you can see spectacles with knights, dance, acrobats, and more.

Salem Witch Store and Coffe

Salem Witch Store and Coffe is perfect to celebrate Halloween, but if you visit any other time of the year we still recommend it.

¿Do you remember Salem’s Trials? or have you seen Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Well, that is the theme of this coffee shop.

Don’t get confused about the kind of witches thy are. In this place they see witches as wise women who simply share their knowledge about nature.
