Cost of Guide in Teotihuacan
There are 2 types of guides you can hire: Guides outside the site or guides inside the archaeological zone.
The outside guides charge 800 pesos for the tour (they can be up to 12-15 people) and are supposed to be cheaper than the inside guides.
In addition to the cost of the guide, you must pay 80 pesos for access to the archeological zone (per person).
I highly recommend hiring a guide service to enhance the experience, so here are some tips to save you some money.
Tip to reduce costs: There is a guided tour that costs 400 pesos and includes the guide + access(Check it here) and, if you visit from Mexico City, there is an option that includes transportation(Check it here).
Food costs
There are several places where you can eat. You can choose between restaurants or food stalls.
The cost of food is very variable and depends on the budget you have and what you want to spend.
Meals can range from $100 to $450 pesos per person.
If you are on a budget, we recommend that you eat at La Gruta restaurant, a spectacular and millenary restaurant that has been in business for over 100 years.
Transportation cost to get to Teotihuacan.
If you use your own car, don’t forget to consider the cost of toll booths and gasoline (1000 pesos should be more than enough to cover this cost).
If you take the bus, the price is 50 pesos each way (100 pesos round trip).
