Car Rentals and What You Should Know Beforehand

What is the cheapest option when traveling away from home: taxi, public transportation or car rentals?

The truth is, it all depends on the type of traveler you are and the trip you are planning, there are destinations where car rentals are cheaper that taking a cab and/or better than using public transportation; however, there are also places where renting is not worth it.

Here is everything you should know before renting a car.

How to rent a car, online or in person?

In my experience, the best way to rent a car is online.

Renting a car in person has a couple risks, for example, being more expensive and finding out there are no available cars due to high season.

Believe it or not, it has been proofed that a person can save between 10 and 35% renting online; besides, you can reserve your vehicle beforehand so there are no incidents in the rental.

How much does it cost to get a car rental and what’s the best price?

Prices vary a lot depending on the model, size and features you want. Most times, manual transmission cars will be cheaper than automatic.

The best way to find good deals is looking at search engines that focus on comparing prices on rentals.

The search engine that we use to compare and rent cars with the best prices is:

Is it worth it to rent a car for your trip?

You need to do some research of your destination to see if renting a car will be worth your time and money. Our first suggestion is to check our blog for the location and guide. If you find one then we will let you know there if renting a car is necessary.

Now, here are some tips so you can examine if you should rent a car:

Your trips objective: Are you planning on getting to know your destination and its surroundings? Do you plan to travel around the region or stay put in a certain area?

Depending on the distance you plan to travel, you can make an assessment on whether a taxi, public transportation or a rental is more convenient.

The type of traveler you are: Some people rather rent a vehicle due to the commodities it offers, others might thing it’s an unnecessary expense. The truth is that renting a car also depends on your budget and the commodities you are looking for when traveling.

Consider Parking : Something you must think about before renting a car is the cost of parking in your destination. This is important because sometimes the rental itself might be cheap, but the cost of parking can be expensive. Besides, you should also consider how practical it will be to park in the places you want to visit. There are areas where parking can be just impossible.

The Price: Prices are important, but we already talked on how to get good deals. Open our Travel App and click on Car Rentals, done! You’ll be using a search engine that will help you get the best price.

Duration of your trip: This is a big factor, because if you will be on your trip for a long time, renting a car can be the most convenient. If your trip is short it might not be the best option.
